White Oil RTU is a ready-to-use, non-aerosol insecticide designed to control a wide range of common garden pests on citrus, roses, ornamentals, fruit trees, and more. Ideal for home gardeners wanting an easy, effective spray with no mixing required.

🌿 Where & How to Use

🌿 Plants It’s Commonly Safe to Use On

White oil is widely used on:

🍋 Fruit trees

  • Citrus (oranges, lemons, limes, mandarins)

  • Apples, pears

  • Stone fruit (peach, nectarine, plum)

  • Mango, avocado (test first)

🌹 Ornamentals

  • Roses

  • Camellias

  • Gardenias

  • Hibiscus

  • Azaleas & rhododendrons

  • Ficus, schefflera, indoor ornamentals

🌱 Veggies & herbs

  • Tomatoes, capsicum, chilli

  • Beans, peas

  • Brassicas

  • Herbs like basil, mint, parsley
    (Wash before eating)

🌴 Indoor & tropical plants

  • Monsteras, philodendrons, pothos

  • Palms, dracaena

  • Orchids (with care – dilute & spot test)

⚠️ Plants to Be Careful With or Avoid

Some plants have tender or hairy foliage that can burn:

Avoid or test first on a small area:

  • Ferns

  • Succulents & cacti

  • African violets

  • Begonias

  • Maidenhair fern

  • Sensitive natives (e.g., some grevilleas)

Also avoid spraying:

  • New soft growth

  • Stressed plants (drought, frost, heat stress)

☀️ When & How to Use Safely

To prevent leaf burn:

  • Spray early morning or late afternoon

  • Avoid temps above 30 °C or in full sun

  • Ensure good coverage (undersides of leaves!)

  • Follow label rates — more is not better

  • Reapply every 5–10 days if needed

💡 Never mix or apply within 2–4 weeks of sulfur-based sprays — can cause severe phytotoxicity.

🍊 Citrus (except Glen Retreat Mandarins)

Pests: Citrus Leaf Miner, Red Scale, White Wax Scale, Pink Wax Scale, Black Scale, Soft Brown Scale

  • Spray during growth flushes (spring and early–mid autumn) for leaf miner, every 5–14 days as required

  • For scale insects, apply at recommended seasonal timings (Dec–Apr depending on species)

  • Spray thoroughly, including undersides of leaves

  • Do not spray more than 8 times per season

  • Avoid spraying in late autumn or winter


🍇 Grapes

Pest: Grapevine Scale

  • Spray dormant vines in winter, preferably after pruning

  • Spray thoroughly, including undersides


🌹 Roses & Ornamentals (Indoor & Outdoor)

Pests: Scale, Aphids, Whitefly (not QLD), Mealybugs

  • Spray as required

  • Ensure good coverage, including undersides

  • Spray lightly on delicate indoor plants (e.g. Maidenhair Ferns)


🍑 Stone & Pome Fruit

(Peaches, plums, apricots, apples, pears)
Pests: San Jose Scale, Oyster Shell Scale, Spider Mites

  • Spray in winter before bud burst

  • Spray thoroughly, including undersides


🧴 How to Use

  • Shake well before use and keep agitated during spraying

  • Spray to wet all plant surfaces, especially undersides of foliage

⚠️ Important Use Directions

  • Do not spray when shade temperatures exceed 32°C (or 35°C for citrus)

  • Do not spray when soil is dry and plants are moisture-stressed

  • Do not apply within one month of sulphur or lime sulphur sprays


⏳ Withholding Period

Do not pick edible fruit until at least 1 day after spraying.
