  • Reduces repotting frequency
  • Trusted by orchid growers worldwide

🌱 Grade #2 – 6–10mm Particle Size

Grade #2 features an average particle size of 6–10mm, making it particularly suitable for:

  • Disa orchids
  • Masdevallias
  • Young Cymbidiums
  • Seedlings and deflasking
  • Many other orchid varieties

Many growers also use Grade #2 as an alternative to Sphagnum moss where improved aeration and longevity are desired.

🌸 Why Orchids Thrive in KIWI Orchid Bark

Orchids are highly sensitive to changes in their root-zone environment. KIWI Orchid Bark helps maintain stable growing conditions by providing:

  • Consistent moisture and airflow
  • A naturally stable pH
  • Reduced breakdown over time
  • Minimal root disturbance during repotting

The result is a reliable growing medium that supports strong, healthy root systems and resilient plants.

🪴 How to Use

KIWI Orchid Bark can be used straight from the bag or blended with other growing media according to individual preference.

Potting Instructions

  1. Pre-soak the bark overnight before use.
  2. Remove old media from plant roots.
  3. Add a base layer of bark to the pot.
  4. Position the plant and fill around the roots.
  5. Gently firm the bark to remove large air pockets.
  6. Water thoroughly and fertilise as required.

Many growers use KIWI Orchid Bark undiluted, while others may blend it with perlite, sphagnum moss, or charcoal.

Long Repotting Intervals

Thanks to its hard, non-composted structure, KIWI Orchid Bark typically remains stable for 3+ years, reducing repotting frequency, labour, and plant stress.
